Exhaust brake

Has anyone put an exhaust brake on a truck with a 6.4 in it? What part of the exhaust system does it go into? How hard was it to install?
After being pushed down a few mountains, in California, with Tow/Haul mode causing more problems than it solved, I'm looking for something better.

I'm using the Speed Brake from Banks. Their even making a standalone version of it that doesn't require the Six-Gun be installed.

You can set it so as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator, it begins slowing you down until you depress the accelerator again, it'll slow you down all the way to first gear. You can set a desired speed to maintain which will slow you down until it reaches that speed and then maintain that speed until you reach the bottom, much light cruise control. Or you can set it as manual which only activates when you use the Brake Pedal.

I use option one when towing heavy loads, option two when towing medium loads, and option three when driving unladen. Works awesome.

I will be using the banks speed brake also!It uses the turbo as the exhaust brake just like the Dodge! So install should be very simple, just plug & play!

I searched, online, and found one priced at over $1100, and another priced at less than $600. The display looked the same, but the rest of the setups were different. Which one is the stand-alone that works without buying anything else?

I'd be surprised if you can find the price for the Stand Alone at this time. As I believe it's still in the engineering phase or getting ready to be released. I would ask in the Sponsor Forum as Squirly suggested, Jeff is more likely to read it there then notice this thread here.

As it stands now the speed brake for the 6.4L has to be ADDED to our six gun. It's a small piggy back device the adds to the six guns board. It runs around $588 but you have to have the six gun and iQ display for it to work. We are working on a stand alone version that should be out in a few weeks though. I'll keep you all posted.

I have no intention of buying any "tuner", because I'm not willing to remove the DPF, and nothing seems to work with it in place. Whenever they get a stand alone SpeedBrake, I might get one.
