08' F-350 6.4 Powerstroke Loss of power and lose Cruise controll

08 F-350 6.4 Powerstroke, Driving down the highway with the cruise on and the cruise kicks off and i experience loss of power in the engine, you can pull over shut the truck off and start it back up and it will run good for a mile or two and do the same thing over again. Hooked up code reader and pulled a code P0088, (Fuel Rail /System pressure to High). What would cause this and were do I start looking.

Thanks

High Pressure Fuel Pump is going bad.

Needs to go back to Ford for a cab-off repair.

Just went thru this last month. Same exact symptoms and code.

It's covered under the 5 year 100k mile powerstroke warranty, as long as the fuel filters have been changed on schedule and there is no water in the system.
