Fuel Additives?

Just bought my first diesel last night (08 Crew Cab Lariat) and know I should be adding something to the fuel everytime I fuel up. I have a buddy with an 07 and he puts in 8 oz of Diesel Clean when he fuels up. I have also heard about something call Standyne or something to that affect. My question is what is good and what isn't. Any and all suggestions (with reason's why) will be greatly appreciated....Thanks..."Mac"

I run the stanadyne at about 8 oz per 30 gallons. They claim mpg gain as well as cetane and a few other benefits. I did see a slight gain in mpg as well as she runs much better...Another option is the xdp power plus stuff. Its only an oz per 30 gallons and claims the same things...

Allot of people here use Diesel Kleen. I don't use any additives so can't recommend one though. Subscribing to the thread, maybe I should start using some.

I use Ford brand cetane booster (2oz per 28 gal). Truck starts easier, runs smoother, and get better mpg.

Welcome to the site. This is a great place for info.

Post some pics.

Btw I dont use any additive yet. However i am curious as to what some of the guys on here mean when they say their truck are running smoother when they use additives. Its a new truck it should run smooth anyway . So I'm all ears to this one. If it really helps i'll try it.

i used seafoam and powerservice, but didnt like the powerservice, i'm gonna switch to 2 stroke oil so it'll lube up my motor, injectors, etc. i'll let ya kno how it goes but alot of ppl push for 2 stroke oil.
