Dodge fans hope the 6.4 is bad

The Dodge drivers want the 6.4 to be bad. So far the 6.4 has been extremely successful. It is going to be hard on them trying to trade in their Dodges for a new 6.4! Just take a look at resale values on all the manufacturers. Ford has always been better than the competition. :handguns:

Man there are more rumors about diesel manufacturers and the big three than there are in an all girls high school! Short story on all of them, they are all WAYYYYY too deep in bed to be changing anytime within the next 3 years or so.....

Supposedly Ford and Navistar have a monster law suit going over the 6.0 and 6.4L diesels. It is most assuriedly over contractual obligations, but I heard that part of what was named in the lawsuit was restitution for excessive warranty work on the 6.0L and the cost on the 6.4L did not come in on the agreed amount? Who knows.

That is the biggest crock I've heard yet about the 6.4L. I don't even have to go into how stupid FMC would look like if they stopped production on the 6.4 after all of the advertising, money, and over 10 million miles of testing, no way. There is a reason that guy is driving a Dodge...

Rumors on top of Rumors

I have heard this crap before from Dodge drivers. The problem is the new 6.4 beats the Dodge engine hands down. Put the Ford 6.4 in the same weight vehicle with the same tranny and rear end ratio as the Dodge engine and see what happens. Don't use a lighter weight truck with a lower rear end ratio and beat your chest Dodge drivers. The look and feel of the Ford is far superior to any other manufacterer. I believe that Ford still sells more than Dodge and GM put together. There has been a tremendous amount of testing on this new 6.4 that is actually built by International for Ford. The plain fact is that none of us will really know until this new engine has been out for several years. I am banking on this being a good engine for the long run. If not I have a 100,000 mile mechanical warranty through my insurance company on top of the Ford warranty. You have to wonder where these Dodge drivers are getting this information. I have yet to hear anything from a reliable source that is bad about the new 6.4. The only item I have heard from a reliable source is about the flame from the tailpipe and that can be corrected by Ford. I have 1800 miles on mine with no issues. Good luck with your decision. The 6.0 is still a nice engine as is the 7.3.
