How often should i change my oil?
I'm at about 3,700 miles and I usually change my oil in my car every 3500 miles, but it also didnt cost a arm and leg to change it in the car. I don;t do much towing, mostly just power equipment and toys in the bed so it does haul a little. In the manual it says every year or 10k miles, but I don't wanna stretch it out that long unless others have done it with no problems. Also what should I be paying for a oil change? Is there any special things I need to do for it's first maintenance? Thanks!

I have mine changed every 5k at the dealership. I do it for a couple reasons: I drive highway and back roads, 40 miles each way to work and home. I creep in rush hour traffic for about fifteen minutes everyday on the highway in the afternoon. I tow a few times a month during the summer with my camper. This puts me in the severe driving category.
I have the dealership do it because every fifth change is free and when I do the math, It only costs me an additional $10 per change. I don't have to get rid of the used oil and filter. The dealership has the records of maintenance for any warranty claims in the future (i.e. type of oil, approved filter,, anything to do with regen/ oil level increase etc) They also check my coolant level and nitrite levels, brakes etc. Hope it helps |

I get mine done at 5k at the dealership. I wouldnt go over that because your oil really gets worn out in a diesel. I think my oil change is about 65 and thats with a tire rotation.

Get a Blackstone oil analysus at maybe 5k miles and they will tell you if your oil needs to be changes sooner or if you can go longer on a change. Once you do a few samples and get reports you will know pretty much what to do each time.

I'm running Synthetic and my dealer has me scheduled every 7500, I use them for the same reason that Shinny explained.

Rotella T6 5w40 every 5k miles. Let the dealer do it and they look over the truck, drain water separators, etc as well as keeping the service records for any warranty issues.
