I'm No longer a Wanna B! Oil leak help?

Well I did it. Got me an 08 King Ranch with a 6.4 twin turbo. I have dreamed of this truck for a long time. I'm not sure what to do now. After driving about 300 miles it seems to be spewin oil on the bottom side of hood on the passenger side of truck. All over alternator etc. WTF is this? Am I in deep crap here or what? The owner mentioned that it's done it before. Is there some sort of pressue relief valve on that side maybe? I have no clue this diesel thing is new to me but I'm never goin back to a gas guzzler I love the smell of diesel.

Dude...the owner mentioned that it occasionally spews oil all over the engine compartment and you still bought it without looking into the problem a little further??

Ten points to him for being honest but yeah man, oil spewing in the engine compartment is NOT NORMAL OR HEALTHY!!!

Good luck and welcome to the addiction

As I understand it, the crankcase vents into the airbox and that may be your problem. If there is too much oil in the motor, then the "venting" may be more frequent or have more volume. I'd check that. Oh, when was the last time that the oil and filter were changed? Might be a good first step. Good luck and enjoy the new truck.
