Texting while driving video
Awhile back someone on here posted a video about the kid who was texting while driving and caused a wreck. If you have the link for it I would like to show it to my kids. Thanks

I know this is a very old thread but I feel that it is VERY important and should be shared. I think that we as parents and grandparents should all share this with our young ones who drive. If it saves 1 life then it was worth it.

Not just the young folks. Some of us older folks need to be reminded not to do it, myself included.

They just made this a law in my province (came into effect September 1) and it is the dumbest law ever. There is so much grey area in this law they call "distracted driving." You can smoke, eat a snack (can't have three buffet steam trays on the go), drink water/coffee, etc. The police summed the law up as you won't get a ticket if you exercise common sense but it is up to the officer's discretion as to whether or not you're distracted. However, you're not allowed to change a song on your iPod, talk on a cell phone, or text, program a GPS while moving, apply makeup, or do any personal grooming. Meanwhile, truckers can still use a handheld CB radio and first responders are allowed to use their cell phones while driving. Why are they exempt? Personally, I think three year old kids throwing a temper tantrum in the back seat is a larger distraction than any of the above. Not like the police are going to write a ticket for that... Congratulations on taking $172 out of someone's pocket and meeting your ticket quota for the month.

not saying texting while driving isnt a distraction, or for better words smart at all, but I agree with the last two posts. Not to mention all the people I see with a newspaper or book on the steering wheel while driving
