Installing factory brake controller on f-350, need help
Hi guys,
Ok here's the scoop. My 09 F-350 HD did not come with the factory IBC, for whatever lame reason. Anyways, after some research here, I've installed the factory dash brake controller unit that plugs into the trailer brake harness, with the slide on it. I've also installed the brake master cylinder that is designed to work with the factory IBC. I took it ford to have the computer programmed / feature turned on, the tech brought me back and explained that there is no feature to his knowledge that needs to be turned on or programmed, just plug in the trailer and go. Anyways today, plugged in my trailer, lights, brake lights , signals, all work ok, but the brakes do not work, and I get nothing on the cluster showing that it's plugged in. The gain / manual slide buttons do nothing. I've also checked the 30amp high current fuse in the engine compartment, and the 10 amp fuse in the passenger side fuse panel (All good). What am I missing here? Hopefully someone else has been through this. Thanks in advance, and appreciate any help or suggestions. |

When I was looking into this, I was told by the Ford Dealership (has done this several times), that you do have to program the truck.
