Satellite radio question

My dad recently purchased a 6.4 that has the factory installed satellite radio installed. He also has a truck camper that extends forward almost to the cab lights, so when the camper is in the back off the truck it covers the satellite radio receiver. Does anybody know of a place to find some sort of a kit to solve the problem? The only thing I know to do is get another receiver and mount it to the camper. Any other suggestions?

Stick it on the hood and run the wire thru the firewall. Unplug the current antenna and connect to the the same location.

Magnet Mount Antenna

When you off load the camper, leave the magnet mount under the hood and reconnect the factory antenna.

Have you actually tried this? I have the same situation but I also have a factory navigation system that uses the same antenna. Do you think this would work? Thanks JIM

Yes, I use this on my 2008 F-450.

The Sirius receiver is separate from the Nav unit.

The satellite antenna is separate from the GPS antenna.

The GPS antenna is under the dash behind the Nav unit, and plugs into the back of it.

I'm not sure about the 2009's

I just switched mine out today after unloading the camper, and the connection is different than shown in the picture.

The one I have is plastic with a push-to-release function.

It's made by TERK, and fits the factory sirius radio.

I'm not sure if the one pictured above would work with that connection.

On my 2009 W/ factory Nav there is only one antenna with a splitter in the harnees to Sattelite unit and Nav unit. I tried to plug a magnetic aftermarket antenna in to SDARS unit anf the plugs are different. I am thinking of buying another factory antenna and cable and mounting it in the middle of the hood. Do you know of any splitter available that would make this work for me?
