Diesels for Dummies

I'm new to the forum and diesel truck ownership. I'm relatively mechanically competent on gasoline engines, but I've never owned or worked on a diesel engine and know very little about them. Is there a good FAQ out there on what the differences are on the care of these beasts as opposed to gasoline engines? I tried the search function and found some small, specialized posts, but I didn't find a good overall "Welcome to Diesel Engines" FAQ. Any help?

Thanks! I just today picked up an '08 F-250 King Ranch tricked out (moon roof, sliding bed cover, etc.) with just 17K miles on it.

Thanks! Also, I've been surfing the web looking for a Haynes manual with no success. Has Haynes not released a manual for the '08 F250's yet?
