Oil For 6.4L Powerstroke

Are there any companies out there that make CJ-4 formulated oil in a Synthetic?

I was looking around the local autozone last week, and saw only one brand on the shelf in Synthetic.

Maybe it is best to go with the motorcraft CJ-4.

Any thoughts? Looking for ideas on the best Oil to use in mine.

Mobil1 also makes a synthetic 5W-40 oil for diesel trucks. This is what I'm using.

Amsoil products are NOT CJ-4 certified.

It says MEETS CJ-4 STANARDS but it doesn't have the API certification -- not knocking the product, just saying that if there was ever an issue, it could come down to this.

I personally am running the Rotella 5w40 right now.

Search for Hydrotex Synthetic Lubricants on google or something. There are alot of farmers/ranchers around here than swear by it. Their oil has great engineering to last 10,000+ miles.

Personally Im not to big a fan of synthetics. I just change my oil every 3000miles with the recommended brand and whatnot and keep on truck'n. I just dont like the fact of not changing your oil every 3 to 6 thousand miles...

Motorcraft 15w40, they make it for the thing, if anything breaks thats one less variable they can blame on me! Every 5k, Walmart has it for $11/5 qt. jug.
