08 F250 Owner

I purchased my 2008 F250 Diesel 4X4 Crew Cab Lariat a little over a month ago. I love the truck so far. I keep looking for any of the first year engine problems that plagues so many manufacturers (expecially Ford) but I have had no issues yet. I am really hoping that Ford realized they almost killed thier image/market with the 06 diesel and will not allow the same types of issues with the 08. I have read about the possible exhaust issue but I have had no problems yet. I only have 1,100 miles on truck though. The diesel engine is extemely quite. With the windows up you do not even hear the engine running unless you really step on the gas (diesel). The truck looks great and I get a lot of compliments about it. Those who say it looks cheap are the ones who do not own one but would like to

This is a great truck. It is rugged, good looking with lots of power. Has anyone heard of problems/issues with the 08 diesel?

all kind of crazy stories out there.i would not worry about it i doubt they will make that mistake again!good luck with it and dont set no fire with that thing.lol

I have also heard of that and I have received a recall notice from Ford. They talk about changing the chip or power module settings. I do not know if I even need that done. The flames sound sort of neat unless they burn up my truck. I do not park on any grass.

Actually I have not taken any digital photos yet. I am going to though as one of my relatives wants one emailed. The only thing I have done to the truck is to have the LineX bed liner sprayed in the bed. They did a great job.

congrats - ive had mine almost a month and just migrated over to this forum. i absolutely love this truck, and have had zero problems with it for the first 1400 miles (knock on wood).

That is the same with me. I also just joined this forum to learn of any issues with the 08 F250 diesel. After reading some of the comments in this forum I believe there will be some beneficial information from some of the more informative comments from other owners or techs. Since this is a new engine there is not a lot of information out there. I was really leary about buying this new engine but I wanted an 08. So far everything has been just about perfect. Of course I only have about 1200 miles on mine. I really do like the step in the tailgate. It was an option on the truck that I did not think I would like but I was wrong. This does make it a lot easier to get in and out of the back of the bed of the truck. I also purchased the Ford Chrome bug shield from the dealer to install myself. I really did not like the appearance of the bug shield on the front of the truck so I took it off. The shield convers and hides the Super Duty that is imprinted into the metal on the front hood. That has been my only mistake so far.

I have an 08 F350 SRW 4x4 CC Lariat for about 2 months.I got over 4,500 miles and only had one problem.I had a bad thermostat within the first week other then that it runs like a champ...I am getting ready to haul my trailer down to Myrtle Beach for Bike week.Curious to see how she runs.Trailer is about 13,000lbs loaded.Mirrors are nice and the sound systems is very nice.
