Speed Limiter ?????

Did a weekend trip in the new truck just to finish the break-in mileage. Was playing around with different speeds and low and behold I found out this thing has a speed limiter set at 80 mph! Feels like your running into a wall of wind. Back off the throttle and you'll find your back at 75 and you can throttle again. Also cruise control cannot be set at 80mph or above.
Mind you I don't plan on travelling this fast in most circumstances, but it was a shock.

The skuttle butt is the 450s have a 80 mph speed limiter because of the speed rating on the 19.5 inch tires.

They are only speed rated to 80?? What kind of tire are they using?? Man that would really suck. How are you supposed to pick on people on the interstate??! Someone will figure out how to fix that, just give it some time.

Really enjoying the truck so far and I'm sure the speed limiter will help me improve my fuel mileage....but...does kinda mess me up when not towing...:drive:

If your at 80 mph in a 450, you're already well past the max fuel economy speed. I am sure that custom programming will soon be available to alleviate that limit.

both our F550 flatbeds are limited to 80 mph too...the 7.3 and the 6.0 It sucks when I do tow jobs into Michigan and evenryone flys past me...
