Question Fifth Wheel towing with 08 Super Duty F350 4X4

Has anyone tried towing a fith wheel rv with the 08 F350 4X4? I am planning on buying fifth wheel in the near future, but wonder if I am going to run into problems with the hieght of the bed on the truck.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,
I'm planning on doing the same thing with my '08 350 4x4 SRW. I'm looking at 32-36ft toyhaulers. I don't know it the bed height will be a problem, I've read on some of the rv forums where folks flip the axles on their trailer to aid in the height issue.

I'll have to let you know, when I get the trailer. Do the same if you get yours first, okay?

Cheers,
Leslie

Hi guys! I just got my 08 F-350 srw 4x4, and finally got enough miles on it to pull. I have a 32' fifth wheel and I have no problems with the height. The camper is stock height from the factory.

Hi all,

Thanks Husker for alieviating my fears!! I now just wish I could find the perfect toy hauler. I'm stuck between a Crossterrain tf34mk and a Cyclone 3210....sigh

What toy hauler did you get? I'm curious

Thanks again!

Cheers,
Leslie

Actually I have a Cardinal 5th wheel camper. I took the hitch out of my 06 F-250 and put it in my 08. The 350 sits higher but I don't have any problems. It sits level with the trailer on, whereas my 250 squatted down.

My trailer, a Carri-Lite, can be ordered with a "4x4 option" which puts a steel block between the axles and the frame.

I saw this on another forum. I think this will cure your ills for hauling with extra height.
