I am guessing that a F-450 is not offered by Ford Australia? Sounds like you get US Spec trucks and convert them? Any issues with parts/service/repairs if so?

Yea, Ford Australia is dumb and missing the boat...

All they brought in was a dummy spin Brazilian built Ford out of left over parts that became obsolete in America in 2003... Up to 2007 they brought in a low grade basic Ford, assembled in Brazil, no frills, no leather, crap transmission the 4R100 that was not really made for heavy towing we do and it has a 8% failure rate here... All that was good in the whole truck was the 7.3 PSD run outs til 2007...

Anyway, Dealer that converts them handles Warranty, and we also have the PowerStroke Shop, three days by Air Mail...

My truck was built in Kentucky, and F-450 KR CC DRW FX4, Woooo Hooo!!!

Well, looks like

1FT is a USA complete truck

W is 10,001-14,000 GVWR with pass airbags

W3B is supposed to be the cab configuration....the W3 is right, he must have mistaken a 5 or a 0 for a B?? IDK just a guess. what is the cab config of this truck?

R should be the motor of the truck. R isn't even an option?!? Don't know what that could be.

5 is the computer generated check digit....could be anything so that is right.

A should actually be a number not a letter. It should be the last digit of the model year.

E It was made in the Kentucky plant.

B04493 is the build sequence and warranty code.

I would call the dealership and ask for the vin # again and see what you get. Looks like there is three digits that are wrong. Could have been lost in translation somewhere who knows

Good Luck

The 8th digit being R in the VIN means 6.4l Navistar diesel and A in the tenth digit gives 10 as the model year but it looks like some of the other digits are wrong, if it is a F-350 CC SB the 4th, 5th and 6th digits should be W31. If I remember correctly you may have been assigned a VIN when the truck order is confirmed but the window sticker does not show up in the Ford system until a few weeks later. I have not seen a 2010 VIN guide yet so 2009 is the latest: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...fs/VIN2009.pdf
