Transfer of 36k factory warranty

This is probably a dumb question, but I bought an 08 with 28k miles and there are a couple of things I would like fixed under the factory warranty. One is an oil leak and other is A/C, and both items are not due to abuse. Both are items I would not pay a dealer to fix if there were no warranty.

I do not have past maintenance records on this truck. (Maybe the dealer does). I've heard about Ford pushing back if the owner doesn't have proof of maintenance.

Anything I should know before taking it in? I don't want to do anything dumb that might give them reason to stick me with a huge repair bill.

I bought my truck used from a Ford dealer with 28K on it. Never had a problem with the 36/36 warranty. I used it for an oil leak and to get the radiator replaced.

I didn't get mine from a dealer - I bought private party. So there was no "certified used" type of endorsement here.

I didn't get anything like that 'certified used truck'. Just a sale. You won't have a problem with the 36/36 warranty. Just make a phone call to a dealer service department and tell them you bought it used and they would love to have your business.

I'll give that a go, thanks.

I have never been a regular at any dealer because I do as much of my own maintenance as possible and don't buy brand new vehicles. Maybe I'll get lucky and the maintenance for the first 27k on this truck was done at a dealer and in their system.
