Picked up my first 6.4

I used to have a 2006 Duramax and decided this time I would try ford. I just grabbed a 2009 lariat cc long bed F-350. I can't wait to lift it. Overall I'm very happy so far with it. I just got it tonight and will be putting it to work tomorrow mourning hauling 12k lbs. of noble out of the mountains on a 4x4 road for 35mi. in 4x4 low. I will report on how it does compared to the dodge I usually do the work with.

Can anyone tell me if it will void my warranty if I use the spartan 210?

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the truck!!! My dealer said to not tow anything for about 500-1000 miles to allow the truck to break in...... just what I heard though.

Congrats on the new truck!

Any mods you do to the truck have the capability of voiding your warranty, it all depends on the dealer. Spartan is the best option out there though for the 6.4L. If theres anything I can help with give me a holler.

How do you post pictures I took some of the truck today on its first work trip. It did good but I need some better tires for where I go. I am think about doing the spartan with dpf delete but am afraid of losing my warranty. Fuel milage is horrible I was using a 2003 dodge ram V10 before and I think I got better milage with that. hand calculated was 8mpg the computer said 7mpg.

HA!! I think thats a forum first. hand Calculated higher that the lie-O-meter. It will get a LITTLE better after the engine breaks in but don't look for much stock.

Here is the link to the picture of the fisrt day I had the truck. I can say that the 06 duramax 2500 I had could tow 16k lbs. with a 8 in. lift and 22" wheels and 37" tires better than the 09 f350 stock so far. If the dealer did not lie to me about the mpg (they said 18mpg) I would of never bought the truck to begin with. what is the point of having a brand new truck that you have to void the warranty on to get the same mpg as its competition. Also the truck feels gutless compared to the duramax. I could do 90mph down the freeway towing a loaded 16k lbs. 40ft toy hauler when towing 12k lbs. of material behind the new F-350 yesterday it was struggling on an almost flat grade to do 60-65. To be honest I'm not impressed with the truck yet. I do believe though that after the dpf delete and spartan tune that I will be happier with it than my previous trucks. I just hate the idea of voiding the warranty with only 800 miles on the truck to make it compare to other new trucks that I could of left stock.

The Fords interior I do like more and it does seem to take a load in the bed better. I had to get air bags for the duramax. Will be doing lots of research on this great site. I plan on keeping this truck for 4 years then getting the new scorpion.
