Hello again Geabis, YOU ARE A CHAMPION... We have not seen the MY10 here yet in Australia. Overnight, I have a white over pueblo gold F-450 King Ranch 4x4 DRW CC LWB supposedly reserved for me for conversion to Right Hand Drive 2000 . Being as what I drive influences a lot of truck sales for Bushtracker, (see us at www. bushtracker. com ) (no spaces)( and this is not sales, we cannot ship to America, too busy here) but anyway I think they will follow through just fine due to the exposure with Bushtracker... It is a build date 03/09 and even though it will not be finished conversion and compliancing until Dec, it will be an 09 F-450. That will hold me over until the 6.7 has the bugs worked out and then by 2011 I will upgrade if it pays to for fuel economy... Thank you for you kind help. If you would, let me know what to do to it for fuel economy and tuning and......... I am thinking spartan. On my last F-350 it was SCT and Eric, but I like the look of you gauge display. On my first King Ranch, an 06, I did a 4" SS downpipe and went back to almost a straight through exhaust. I am assuming kitty lost and DPF delete via Spartan... And 4" exhaust of course.. Thank you, and beer is on me in Australia, C'mon down... |

Hi there tipped over log picker, RRonning84.... Look, thanks for your sentiment, I am counting on it being a good investment, and relying on good Folks lke you and your advice... Let me tell you how big an investment it is here.. And I thank you, and here is why the bother: Figure a F-450 King Ranch 4x4 CC LWB DRW LTZ loaded at about $60k... add about $10 k for currency conversion, $10 k for shipping to Australia, 10k for luxury tax and import duty, about $30k for new dash-new steering, rewire, rebuild, and new controls to Right Hand Drive, that is up to $120k.... Then add say $15 for finance and Dealer profit tying up the money for 5 months to do all this, and we are up to what $135,000, then add GST (Goods and Services Tax like Obama is thinking ) of 10% for the bloody socialist government mirroring Obamas trend... Now you get just how good of a an investment deal it has to be.. Ha!... ![]() However, we love the trucks, and everything in Australia is a different scale of things. I have seen a 6-7 year old Dually King Ranch go for $85,000... I sold my tow King Ranches with winches, lifts, tuning, and gear second hand for $130,000.. ![]() But yes, different values here, now you get the idea as to why my concerns and questions. I think my F-450 KR 4x4 is reserved and it might be the only white one (best colour for heat for the Outback) available in the entire country new... ![]() ![]() God Bless America, But I think Obama is pulling your plug for the future...

Struth, I live in the city on the Sunshine Coast, I have been driving a dually in town for off and on about 8 years. My horses are 25 minutes away in the country. But a Dually is not so bad in the city, do it all the time... You just learn how to park it, backing in, hanging your rear over the curb..!!! And on the street you put the outer wheel of the dually up on the curb...!! But yes, if you lived in inner Sydney (gay capital and super leftist socialist ) you would not have a Dually. Melbourne is pretty packed to. But no worries, with 9 horses, not much chance of me living in the inner city of either, and I am not a homo-phobie, just don't like them ![]() Sunshine Coast is more like Santa Barbara in California or Daytona in Florida, little lower density and spread out. But with a little talent I drive a Dually all the time. Good on ya Yanks, the last Bastion of Freedom, we're with ya! ![]() ![]()

ok here are the charts. the one rates fuel economy based off the highest gearing available. the distance is in inches over 1000 revolutions of the drive shaft and the other is dry curb weight in lbs. the over all weight of a vehicle doesn't matter much at highway speeds but the rolling friction of the dual wheels will. also if you are not driving a high percentage of highway miles the mid range fuel economy rated combos may yield better mileage due to earlier converter lockup and the truck being able to shift in to overdrive at a lower speed. (ive found in some of my travels i can just put the truck in tow haul and increase my mileage because the tc will lock in 4th) |

Wow, I don't know where you developed those tables, but that is pretty impressive. The F-450 is 1600lbs of bigger diff and brakes and suspension over an F-350 in the 4x4 CC DRW... That is a lot of Beef... ![]() I will just have to live with the fuel economy, as I have a use for it hauling my horses. That kind of extra beef will be a strange sort of comfort for me.. Thank you Geabis,

no problem Lone Ranger, its defiantly a heavy duty truck the wheels alone feel like they weigh twice what the 16.5's on the 3500 weighed. and the rear end is a real big difference over the f350 11k# axle vs the 9k# axle. to look at it you would think it belongs on a peterbuilt. in order to get anything bigger you have to get a medium duty chassis. its has a lot more capacity than my old GMC 3500. make sure you post when your truck arrives. i want to hear about your first impressions. |

Hello EVERYBODY!!!
Your advice has prompted me to take the plunge and today I just committed to the 6.4 TT F-450 King Ranch 4x4 CC LWB DRW!! The stats and pictures of it are AWESOME.... The size of the gear, diff, brakes, everything looks awesome!! And in the heat, the White over Pueblo Gold will be good in the heat of the Outback and overall "cooler"... Thank you all for your comments, will keep you posted with what more I find out... Best Regards from Australia, WHAT A GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENT I GET!!! ![]() ![]() |
