Ok, help me out here. Bought new OEM washer nozzles. Snapped them in, hooked them up to the fluid tubes....and nothing. So I checked fluid level. It's full. Pulled a new nozzle back off and tried to blow air through it. Can't blow air through it. Turned blue trying. Am I missing something here???? Do I need to pull a tab or what??
The proper installation of OEM windshield nozzles requires the purchase of the complete Ford Rotunda Windshield Washer Nozzle Reaming Kit (Part #ROT-WWN-REM-001 ). At $349, it seems a bit much. Individual reamers like the one pictured (Part #ROT-WWN-REM-164 ) are available through unofficial channels for only about $49. I'd go that route.
I'm just messin 'around. I think that their quality control just stinks. I'd stop by the dealer and ask wth is going on. They would've had to have seen this before.
Well, I'm either a total 'tard or God had himself a good laugh...
Called the local dealer parts dept this morning and explained my conundrum the parts guy and I'm sure he's thinking I a complete moron after I explain my problem and how my scientific methodology of testing these nozzles (by trying to blow air through them until I start to pass out, pushing stick pins into them and finally screaming at them at the top of my lungs) proves that I have received not one bad set of OEM nozzles, but in fact two sets. He suggests I take the truck to the service dept first, as I am obviously too stupid to replace a set of $7 nozzles.
Before throwing in the towel and going to the service dept like a defeated idiot, told wife to get in truck and turn on wipers and wash. I take off the washer hose and I get a bath of washer fluid. So I stick the hose back on the nozzle (the first set, second set is on standby), and lo and behold I got fluid coming out of both nozzles! I felt like I had just parted the Red Sea!!! Victory!
I have no earthly idea why they started working, but I proceed on a victory lap around the neighborhood with my washer fluid squirting all over the place until I'm sure I must be nearly out of fluid and the truck looks like it just went through a car wash that uses blue water.
Thanks to all for your support and help on this problem, we can close out this problem!
