2010 f250 185k miles. bully dog programmer and DPF delete done about 3 weeks ago. All was good until this morning, getting on highway all my gauges went dead for a few seconds then came back. ABS light flickered shortly after that. problem continued all day at random. Truck ran and drove fine. Any ideas what is cousing this? Comp. failing? loose wire?
When it's plugged into the OB2 port it needs to be in there tight. If the tuner's OBD2 plug moves any bit, it will "short" the port and cause all sorts of crazy issues. My tuner got bumped loose one time (visual inspection looked good) and my truck would randomly turn on and off and the gauges would flash. This lasted for about 100 yards. I pushed on the plug and it seated itself fully and didn't have another problem after that.
Also, the first generation of Bully Dog tuners don't have a great reputation. Hopefully your's isn't one of those.
