It's the government fault that this is going on. Letting the enviromentalist get involved making the government make new regulations. Lets go back to the 60's and 70's the year of the muscle cars, no cat's, buy it on monday drive a couple tanks of fuel through it and take it to the strip on friday and saturday, running 13's and 12's consistantly in the 1/4 mile. Then drive it home and go to work in it on monday morning. That is what we need. I have seen smog tests done on newer cars and seen comparison against the old muscle cars with no emmissions on them. believe it or not there was not enough difference to tell.

That is the problem the government is taking to much control over what companies can and can not do. There for when all the american companies go under because they have to build cars and deal with emmission standards at the factories, then have to build the cars to deal with the emmission standards set by the government to only put out so much of this gas and that gas. It makes the companies loose money.

I say screw it all lets go back in time and redo everything. Maybe when we got done with hitler we should have just taken out saddam at the same time.

I've heard that it is more enviromentally unsafe to produce the smog control components than it is to run a car without them.

No its Navistars fault for building an engine that is substandard. Its also Fords fault for not letting Navistar do their job.
