Ford divorces International?
I was reading on wikipedia that Ford had dissolved its contract with International over the 6.0. Is this true? I wish they would go with Caterpillar and put an inline 6 like the cummins in the Superduty. I know you guys are ready to lynch me over that statement, but I think that would be cool, especially if you could make it sound more like a big rig!

i agree cat parts are way over priced though just cause it has cat on the box. i would hate to see ford and navistar split but when you dont want to stand behind your product because navistar did not properly r&d the 6.0 like they should have i dont blame ford a bit for wanting to split at all. when you pass that cost onto the consumer it makes you look really bad but ive noticed its a trend here lately with alot of manufactors. id like to see a cat engine as an option but not the only diesel option. id also like to see cummins as an option as well and i know it may offend a few but fact is they are good reliable engines but are usually not the strongest from the factory in the past. the number one probablem with the new cat engines is that just about every customer that orders one to go in a rig they detune the engine . which cuts the power and does more damage than good. it puts the fuel system in a strain and the engine never gets enough fuel its being starved. especially when an engine and fuel system are designed to run a certain amont of fuel and flow. the biggest compliant i here about the new cat engines are a lack of power from the operators and i tell them to go ask their boss why they decided to detune the engine when purchased. their reason is to save fuel but it doesnt when the operator stays at wot all the time. the second reason is this crappy new fuel!!!!!!!! this new stuff sucks a fat one something serious!!!!! but how to explain it to a yuppie that does not know jack squat about engines or diesel?

Hold Up On The Cat Bashing! Those are fighten words, Sacralige mind you! The only diesel company that can come close to Catapillar is Volvo, Thier VED line of engines are doing awsome fuel economy numbers and reliabilaty is great! The beloved 3406 A,B,&C, you spoke of is a part of transpertation history with legand status, but truth is its a dinasour, a C-15 makes more power gets better fuel economy, and truth be known is more reliable.
