Guess who just drove a 2008???

OK guys and gals, I just got back from a little trip to the Ford Dealer! The salesman called me at about 6pm (MD time) and said that a 2008 PowerStroke "just got off the truck". Well, I'm about 2 miles from the dealer, so I fire up ol' Brisco and goto Apple Ford here in Columbia, MD.

As I pull into the parking lot and park, the salesman is pulling the BRAND NEW F-250 Lariat up to the front. OMG!!! This truck is too quiet! The particular F-250 was FULLY loaded save for the KR package. It had EVERYTHING!

So, as it's sitting there idleing and we are looking it over, he says, "you ready to drive it?"

Guys, all I have to say is WOW! It drives like a car, better turning radius than my 2000 F-350, and faster than my truck too! I got on it on a straight and it just pulled....like it was a sports car! Shifting is butter smooth, boost on the dash readout was hitting about 32 psi, and the EGT gauge was moving but had NO numbers on it.

All in all, I was VERY impressed with everything about the truck save for one thing...THE PRICE!!! Sticker was $52,200 and they were going to give me a little "presidents day discount" taking it to $50,900 before TT&L.

Guys, I'm thinking this truck is going to have ZERO problems. It feels ROCK solid and had no hesitation at all.

Like Borat would say,"Very NICE!"

Guys, I really want an 08 now...expecially after driving one. I just can't afford, or justify the $700-1000 payment a month. IF I do end up getting one some day....it will be a FULLY loaded model. That Lariat package is nice along with the sunroof and heated seat etc. Anyone wanna loan me $60,000??? I promise to pay you back over the next 10 years. I PROMISE!!!

I got a call from the dealer today wondering if I was going to drop the $52,000 on the F-250. I had to decline but I WILL go back to the same dealer and salesman when it comes time to get my 2008 F-450 w/ in the next 18-24 months. They treated me right and they were not pissed about me not buying the truck. I will definatly buy a truck at Apple Ford in Columbia MD!

I have to put in my 2 cents, I drove one today, the twin turbos kicks @#$. No turbo lag, though I am curious what it is like with a six speed. I must have drove the stripped down motle because it only was $45,000. Cons, cannot change exsost or program it (hint hint to comuter hackers).
