6.4 question

Hey guys,
I’m new to the forum and want to see what everybody’s input is on the new 6.4 coming out. I would really like to buy another ford but I’m a little hesitant because of a very bad experience with my ‘04 F350 6.0. After having 3 rear main seal fixed and new ball joint at 17,000 and also a new power steering pump and transfer case, I finally turned it in to a lemon lawyer and he helped me have ford buy it back. I was always a die hard Ford fan but I was worried about getting another 6.0 so I went with a 2006 Chevy Duramax which at 32,000 miles had to have a head gasket replaced. I really need a new truck. I sold my Duramax and have nothing but don’t know if I should wait a year or two for the Ford and just get another Duramax. What’s everybody input on this? Thanks.

I'd say go for it. If I wouldnt be so upside down on mine I'd have one like yesterday. After all the problems with the 6.0, Im almost certain they made sure that they wont have any if very little problems with the 6.4.

personally i wouldnt get the first year 6.4 but the later modle 6.0s are proven you could probably get a nice 07 for a killer price when the 08s start moving

If it was me i would waite a year or two.It seems like what ever you buy they all some problems. You could find 06 or 07 in the 6.0 for the most part a pretty good motor.I really like mine. Hope this helps.:burnout

The 7.3 is a good motor dont get me wrong, but they just dont have the power of the 6.0. at 100whp less i would hate to own a 7.3.

I own the ol' dependable 7.3 and I love it. But, I wouldn't be afraid to own an 05-07 6.0 powerstroke. Or even the older 6.0's should have all of the bugs worked out of them by now.....
