08 shifting/play, rear shocks or springs? (stock)

My 08 has play in the rear of the truck if i push back and forth on the bed there is a clunking sound (sounds like its the springs) but its driving me up a wall. It only makes the sound when one side of the suspention lifts at a time; i cant hear it when both tires in the rear hit at the same time. can anyone help before i have to drag it to the dealer?

Have you ever had a cab off job done at the dealer? I have a popping noise on the drivers side of the truck around where the bed meets the cab. I can hear it while I am driving down the road when I hit bumps and stuff...
