Warranty info needed

Can anyone tell me what the powertrain warranty is for a 2007 F250 diesel? I've read a few threads on other sites saying that it is 5 yr / 160000km but I can't find anything from Ford backing that up. The only thing I can find from Ford says only the engine is warrantied, nothing about the tranny. My tranny is shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd and I don't know if I should take it to the dealer or a tranny shop. I've got 83000 kms on the odo.

Where can I find this "complimentary warranty" info. I had the truck into the dealer because the front axle dust seals had fallen out and they told me there was only warranty on the motor. I have read that some dealerships don't know or play dumb about the complimentary warranty issue.

Wrong there were a few 06's and a few 07's that had this warranty, and in most cases you paid for it

I disagree (based on what I was told by a Ford employee) - Ford issued complimentary powertrain warranty's on 2006 models that were made after July 14, 2006. According to my info from Ford- all 2007's had this also. I guess it could be a regional thing - but that is not what I was told.

OP -
Get an OASIS report - it will have it listed (if you have it). At first, I was not told about mine (I did not pay for it either). I discovered it initially by reading it on my OASIS report. I also had to point it out to my dealership when I had some work done (I took my OASIS report w/ me).

Also - The front axle seals are not covered on the Powertrain warranty (IIRC).

this is what was sent to me:

*F-Series (up to F-550) diesel engine warranty coverage is 5 years/100,000 miles. A 2006 Model Year Ford vehicle sold on or after July 14, 2006 will be covered by a complimentary 5year/60,000 Mile Ford ESP PowertrainCARE extended service contract with a $100 deductible. For 2007 Model Year Ford products the warranty is fully transferable with no deductible.

Thanks for the info and the links. I'll have a go with the dealer and find out what their story is.
