Trailer Brakes..
I have an aftermarket trailer brake module (bought installed already with truck). I don't think it is hooked up but not sure..I can hit the brakes and the module lights up and numbers kinda dance flash on the display. But looking under the hood near the master cylinder I see a wire bundle that look like the same gauge and color as some of the wires coming out of the brake module (they are not connected to anything). I'm probably going to take it by a shop but wanted to see what yall thought.

When you hook up a trailer and turn the gain up high, does it lock up the trailer brakes?

Not entirely sure how to use this thing...it has a spring loaded slider and then a dial you can turn (gain?) I tried pressing the slider thing and nothing appeared to have happened.

most controllers come with a harness that just plugs in under the dash. And if you turn the dial up, (greater numbers when braking) at low speeds, unloaded you should just about lock up the trailer brakes.

What model controller? If you have the trailer tow option theres a plug under the dash behind the OBD II port (grey in color large). If you can unplug the controller from the wiring it may have the plug and play harness. I believe the slider is your brake reset. Is there a manual dial under the controller?
