is this normal?

It got pretty cold for a few mornings and my batteries did not like it so I had to change them both out but while doing so, I noticed both my inter cooler boots had black oily grease on them. is this normal? I pulled the codes and the only one on there was for low voltage due to the batteries getting weak.
They seem to be intact, I don't see any cracks or rips and are on tight.????
I'm at about 51,000 miles now on an 06 6.0

Thanks for any input
Scott

very normal for there to be oil seep at intercooler tubes , if it gets real bad , may want to replace them ,they also can split if gets bad enough ,but oily film is normal

once again thanks for your expertise. Very nice rides Scott, are any of those Fords yours, or just ones you've worked on?
