what to be weiry of????

Hi, I am a newbie to diesels. I am looking at purchasing a 2004 F350 Lariat 4x4 DRW with 175,000kms for $24,995. It has the 6.0 in it. Since the dealer has no service records, what should I be looking for?

Secondly, what can I expect to go wrong with it with this many kms on it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

i would look for something with less miles for that price. i know of a 2005 crew cab lariat f350 drw with 89,000 miles for 19,000. but if u are set on that truck, get an oasis and carfax and see if u can find out who the previous owner was and try to contact them. just look for the usuals like leaks, smoke and all other things that can indicate something is wrong.

i agree, way to much for that truck. but if you click on forums at the very top, then click on 6.0 tech files and scroll down and you will see "what to look for when buying a used 6.0" got a bunch of good details so check that out. hope that helps

How many miles is 175,000kms? Sounds pricey but in different areas truck sell for different amounts so cheap to one is over priced to another

and yeah, its a little steep in price. i found mine at the end of last summer with 50k on the ticker for $15k. there's still some low mileage survivors out there.
