Differences between 04 and 04.5

New guy again...

I saw in another thread that somebody thought that the change from the 2004 to the 2004.5 was December 2003. Is that confirmed? I just looked at the door sticker on my truck and the build date is 12/03. What are the differences between the two engines?

Also, I know that the injector colors are different (white or black) - which is the 03-04 version, and which is the 04.5+? Do I have to remove any valve covers or anything to check the injector color, or is it something visible just by lifting the hood? Thanks!

I would like to know also F350 built March of 04. How long did they use 03 turbo.

According to a few aftermarket injector companies websites, the change from 04 to 04.5 was in September 2003. That's the date they give for the two different injectors.

I'd still like to know what specifically is different between the two injectors and why the change was made if anyone knows. And if there were any other changes made.

Im pretty sure the EGR system and the HPOP were changed in the mid 04 changeover

better... i forgot what was changed about them, just remembered that later model is better, b/c thats what im in the hunt for is a later model 04....

later model 04 as in what month? model year change for 03 is sep 29 and the model year change for 04 is june 29 im pretty sure. maybe someone can verify that.
