Looking at 06 or 07 any good?
Hi I am looking at an 06 or 07 6.0l. I have heard kind of bad things about the 6.0l like blown head gaskets, and turbo's? I was wondering if anybody was have problems with there trucks or if by 06 they have figured everything out?
Thanks |

same old problems, egr, head bolts, there are alot of different threads about it.
every truck is different so its kinda hard to tell if its a good truck or not. a carfax will tell you everything that the dealer fixed so thats a good start |

I have an 06 and I love it! 6.0's after about 03 have a much better track record, but if you chip it and beat on it any will fail at some point. I would do an EGR delete cooler and all and if the head gaskets fail step up to the new head studs while they are in there fixin' that.

I've had 2 6.0's and haven't had any problems with either of them. But in all fairness, my first one was stolen before I even had it a year, and my second one (the one I have now) I've only had since last October. If I had it to do over, after everything I've learned here on the org, I'd look for a 7.3 with low miles that has been babied - there are still some out there, and they'll be cheaper too.

+1...I agree completely. The Ford dealership can supply an OASIS report for repair work completed at any Ford dealership.
