Silencer Ring ?

Hey guys I have a question. How many of you have taken out the silencer ring on the 03 turbo? Are there any performance gains or losses by taking it out? How hard is it to take out? sound Does it any different? I know the 03 turbo is loud enough but hey why not go louder if you can...lol

Im almost positive that to remove the silencer ring you would have to machine it out. I have heard that it isn't much louder without it though.

You would have to machine it out. No gains anyway

I thought the 03 turbo it could be easily taken out. It was the other years that had to be machined. Could be mistaken though.

nope they all need to be machined out

i have two of them and it looks like it just pops out.

where do you see the screws? i have one in my bedroom, just looked at it and it looks like it will just pop right out.

I have poped mine out. early 03's just take a prybar and and shove and its out. no real performance gains, the turbo fart noise is louder and if your in front of the intake it sounds better.

Thanks...I though it could come out without being machined. Is it really worth it to do? Would you do it again?
