Welcome to the ORG!
It can do better! |

Welcome to the site. That mileage is realistic dependant on the way the truck is driven (city vs. hiway, hotrodding or granny style driving, etc)

Welcome. I have a 01 w/3.73 and I have mods and the best I have ever done is 17.1 mpg. That was for one time only and it was pulling a 22' boat. I avg. 14.5 to 15 unloaded and 13.5 to 14 towing my work trailer.

Do 7.3's guzzle a little more. Im looking for a nice work truck with some torque but also want something better then my 10mpg right now and 8mpg plowing. I was looking at doges for a long time now and I am pretty familiar with the cummins but its so hard to find ones that are loaded. Also are 6.0 gear driven engines like the cummins or does it have a timing chain?
