i was wondering...
What a 2004 6.0 with a new motor in it (put a rod through the block, ford wouldnt warranty it, had to buy new block) would run EGT wise?
I was with a buddy yesterday doing some work, we were pulling a 6,000lb gooseneck with a little forklift on it and at highway speeds (65-75) we were constantly above 750.... usually it was closer to 900 though!! And whenever he got on it somewhat (or at least it felt like he was, im an OBS owner so maybe im just not used to the power) it hit 1000 EASY! We never went over 1300 because he wasnt running it that hard but these numbers are WAY WAY higher than my 7.3L Is this just how it is now? the 6.0's run hotter? or is there something wrong here?? He has a banks 6 gun but was on level 2 so it shouldnt of affected much. I was just curious so any 6.0 guys chime in |

Sounds normal to me, too. Mine will run up to about 900 normally and past 1000 when I'm pulling.

The EGR has a LOT to do with the higher EGT's

my 6.0 runs around 500 at highway speeds and hits about 900 if i'm after it hard.
