Should I avoid the 6.0 and go for a 7.3?
Hey guys, after reading and hearing about all of the 6.0L issues both on this site and just google searches I am starting to get discouraged.
I am looking for a truck and have always wanted the POWERSTROKE badge on the side, but should I stay away from the 6.0 and get a 2002 with the 7.3? For example there is a guy selling a 2004 F250 SuperCab short bed FX4 with 76,000mi for $20,000 OBO. Is it to much of a risk? Would the 100,000 mile factory warranty keep me safe? There must be drivers out there who haven't had tremendous issues with their 6.0's right? And suggestions would be greatly appreciated This is my first post. Thanks! |

I love my 6.0 it's been the best truck I have ever owned. Get an Oasis report on it and make your decision

i had two 7.3's and two 6.0's and love the 6.0 way better. i even had the famous 03 6.0 which are known for problems cause it was the first year of that motor but only issue i had was a bad turbo at 100k miles. the 7.3 had a tranny go at 80k
tranny's in the 6.0's are better and the motors produce more power. $20k seems a little high for that 04 your looking at. you can find deals. just be patient about it and you will score a good one. |

I love my 6.0. I had some issues with head gaskets, but I wanted to stud it anyway. Been studded for over a year and almost 20k miles since with no problems.
