Oil Filter Question

I am new to the diesel world. I just bought a 2007 6.0 and am about to service it. In my research I found some people saying that the motorcraft oil filter is the only one to use because all other filters are not the same size and the oil bypass in the bottom of the filter resevoir doesn't close. Is this true? What types of filters are you guys running?
Thanks.

I compaired fram that I once put in and a new motorcraft. Fram wasnt bad but motorcraft is flawless. the reason I used fram was that is was available. But never agian will I use fram on my truck.

There is nothing better than motorcraft filter.
