FX4 Shock Replacement Opinions anyone?

I've got a 2005 FX4 F350 Crew Cab dually and from the LOOKS of my shocks and the ride of my truck, I'd say it was time for replacement.
I'm looking to add air bags this summer to cut down on the choppy ride, but in the meantime, what shocks do some of you prefer?
I'd love to go with Bilsteins if they make them and plus, I'm not a fan of Ranchos.
Opinions? Thoughts?
Typical driving for me is UN-loaded with no weight in the bed.

I would go with bilsteins. I do not think that air bags will help with the choppyness. You need to drive around with a few hundred pounds in the bed. It has to do with the leafs. The 08's ride much better because of longer springs.

I just put bilsteins 5100s on my truck about 4 hours ago. The ride was 110% better then the stock ones.

But beware the shock boot goes on the bottom. SO if you take your ranchos and filp them upside down thats how the bilsteins are.

I went with Bilstein HD's to replace the "Ranchos" and the ride is very stiff. Next time I will be going with Bilstein 5100's because that seems to be better ride unless you're towing all the time.

I too would say to buy the shocks first and then decide if you need airbags. You really only need airbags if you have a heavy trailer or always run with a very large load in the bed. If you're experiencing choppiness, go with new shocks and then rebalance your tires and you should have no problems.
