Bilstein 5100 help ASAP

I havge a 2004 f-350 SRW do these mounbt with the shock boot at the bottom??? I Am putting them on now and they will not mount with the shock boot at the top.

Mine did on my 2000.

You have to turn the lower portion, so it will bolt up

WTF i think the shock boot on the botton look retarded. O well i guess i will have to live with it. Im not going to send them back and all that BS. I hope the ride is worth it.

Do the fronts mount the same way?

I got it... The bilstin logo is right when the shock boot is at the bottom. If the shock boot is ta the top it is upside down.

WTF im kinda pissed about this. O well next go around i stick with rancho.

I thought you were referring to the front. That's what i was talking about.

I assume the rear is the same as the front?

I only have bilstein's on the front at the moment. need to order rears.

My pro comp's that are on the rear now have the boots on the bottom as well tho

I installed my 5100's on front with the boots at the bottom. The bilstein logo would be upside down if i hadn't.

I thought that's the way they were suppose to go

I don't use the boots nor do a lot of other people because they are just a trap for dirt

I just checked mine and my boots are on the top in the front and back. I don't know if the diagram showed them that way, but I did it that way to ensure that dirt didn't gather in there (at least gravity would be working against it).

Let us know what you think about the 5100's....as far as the ride is concerned.

The ride is nice Alot better then the 5 year old stock ones.


Well i put all 4 on with the shock boot at the bottom. As far as the rear shocks go that was the only way. If you try to mount them with the boot up the hole was to small on the shock to put in the truck shock mount bolt thingy.

I think the boot goes to the bottom on the front too. Cuz the logos are right that way. I dunno they came with no directions what so ever.
