"E" or "D"

I have a question about tire wear. I am looking at getting either the 315/70/17, or 325/65/18 in the firestone destination m/t. One is a D rated tire, and one is E rated. Im trying to determine whether the D rated tire will wear out any quicker, or if that strictly applies to the load the tire can carry?

thoughts? opinions?

Load range ratings are applied to tires. Not for how long they will last but how much wieght they can handle.

The difference between Load Range D and E is 300 pounds per tire.

I want to get the e's, but they are quite a bit wider (13 in wide vs 12.5,) and they weight 7 lbs per tire more than the d's... plus the d's are cheaper, by like 50 bux per tire...
decisions decisions...
