Injector Replacement on '03 6.0
I am a neewbie to the site and to diesels...I am still thinking of buying the '03 6.0 Dually I have been driving for the past few days. I just wanted to know how hard it is to replace an injector myself if one goes bad. I don't know that much about deisels, but I am learning real fast. The dealer had the egr valve replaced the other day by the ford dealership. BTW I am very mechanically inclined even though I am a schoolteacher and football coach. Also, how much will injectors cost if I have to replace one myself. Any other info you wish to share will be appreciated. Thanks Guys

in the early 03 trucks they were using C94 injectors which later faded out and all the 6.0s were using C95s. they said they were better and whatnot. I didnt think so because i had 6 C95 injectors that were put into my truck before me and i had to replace 2 of them.. Injectors if you were buying from the dealer are alot but if you know someone local, junkyard or whatnot then its def way cheaper. I have a buddy who works at a junkyard and i get injectors for 75 dollars a piece.
Changing them out isnt a hard job, take a little time and it could be a dirty job but all in all its pretty easy and you dont need alot of tools. BTW the 03 trucks IMO are the best year for the 6.0s. |

they are not that hard to change. if you have any mechanical ablility, you would do just fine. just follow the procedure and your good to go.
