ADVICE NEEDED

heres the deal i need to know if/what kind of options there are out there for being able to take off better in my truck. being that it is a manual trans. i have been seriously contemplating getting rid of my truck because the "lug" on take off is just shy of pathetic. it is not even comparible to the 7.3 i had with a man. trans. i know you cant spool up and launch like you can with an auto. but surely there has to be something that can be done along side of taking off in "LOW" all the time. i was drivin my buddies stock yes stock dodge last week and it took off better than my modded PSD.. i was pretty ill

somethin is wrong with your truck, my buddy had a truck like yours with less mods, just a chip and intake, and that would take off way quicker than my truck, for sure way quicker than a few stock and slightly modified dodges i've been in.

yeah something is def wrong. what are you running the banks or the sct?

your tire/gear combo doesnt help you at all. What tune do you run? Alot of times if they dont fuel without boost they are luggy untill they build a little boost.

single turbo'd 6.4

as for right now the banks i just got home today been workin out of town since i got it @ christmas but come tommorow i will be tearing that chit out... i really hope the SCT makes the difference if not il probly be cleaning it up and SELLING it. as much as it kills me becasue i love the truck other than this.

right now im running on SL with the banks, but im gonna have eric get my customs done this week getting TOW, EX street, and what ever the HOTTEST tune is he writes..

i was pondering this as well but i really dont want to go up to a 4.something gear mileage sucks bad enough as it is. your right about this as soon as i get some boost goin its gone.. but by this time "grandma in the buick lesabre" is already 3 cars ahead of me

ya i agree. THe stock fuel mapping on 6.0 is not very good. I think once you get rid of the banks you should be much happier... and then with custom tunes you'll love your truck all over again. I know of people with auto's that at my altitude, have almost got in wrecks because of the terrible lag on the bottom.

I had the banks PDA before I got the xcal 3 and with it on SL it's not as fast as my truck now on xtreme street.. So it should deffinetly be alot better!!
