Need Advice

Ok I have a problem that I need help choosing what to do. I am going to get studs done on my truck and no I dont have warranty left so yea I have to pay for it. There is a shop that my friend kinda knows the guy who owns it and he has a good rep. but his price is 1300 just for labor. Now my dad knows this guy and his brother does alot of work out of his grage. He has a full lift and everything. I guess he has been workin on cars for a long time. My dad doesnt personally know him though. He works on a companies fleet service vans. He told my dad also he has lifted the cab on one of these and did it before? Anyways he is only gonna charge 600!! Half the price of the other guy.

Part of me wants to save money but at the same time the other guy has an actual shop with a good rep. not sayin the guy that works out of his garage has a bad one I just dont know anything about him. So I dont know what to do What would you guys do??? Thanks in advance!

I have honestly thought about it but I have never pulled a motor out of anything let alone take it all apart I would feel better knowing someone who knows what they are doin is gonna do it. But pretty much anything else I would try and do myself

I don't think its extremely hard. Someone on here that has done it before should be able to tell you exactly what kind of job it is.

I would go and personally talk to both of the guys and see whats up. Have you quoted a Ford tech?

Talk straight to them going through the dealer or see if the techs do side work. I would want someone who has done it before to do them

How do I talk straight to the tech though? Can I just walk in there and talk to them? Or do you think the service guys will let me ask for the diesel tech and talk to him?
