10-30 oil
Can those who have used 10-30 post their thoughts or, ideally, uoa's?
Its time for the Amsoil order and I am considering trying the 10-30 diesel oil-the manual states its ok for temps that I usually encounter here in the northeast and while I will be towing, the weight is less than a ton total, which really is NOT 'towing' at all. |

The 10w30 Diesel synthetic ACD by Amsoil is an excellent oil for the 2007-and earlier powerstrokes. You will find that the 30 weight oil is sheared less than the 40 weight, easier cold starts, better fuel economy and a slight boost in power due to less parasitic loss, and that oil has a 12 TBN. The 10w30 grade can also be used year round. Right now Im using the Amsoil AME 15w40 but the 10w30 ACD will go in at my next oil change.

I used to use the Motorcraft 10-30 dino oil, and now use Rotella 5-40 synthetic. Never did a UOA on either though. I liked the dino, but it starts a lot easier and runs quieter with the synthetic. Time for an oil change for me too $$$
