Normal Maintenance on 06?
I am the new owner of a 2006 PS, I would like to do most of my maintenance myself. Should I buy a manual? Which one?
Do most guys service thier own trannys and rear ends or do you need specialy tools? It has 100k so I would to make sure it runs smooth another 100k ![]() Thanks |

My 06 has 49k on her and I let the dealer do all my work / oil and fuel filters, because I only save 10$ then I have to get ridd of the oil no savings to me .

How much does your dealer charge to change oil?

$100.00 Thats about normal

What does it cost to buy the oil and do it yourself? $90?

Quick lubes have charged me about 100 bucks. I just changed my oil and filter for 55 dollars total. Rotella 15w40. Pretty simple for me. I just slide a 5 gallon paint bucket under the truck and pull the plug. Takes 15 minutes and i know it is done right and i even lube the zerk fittings. The 45 dollars saved goes toward.....
My local NAPA store is having a 1 day 50 percent off all filters sale on april 22nd. I will be stocking up. I also have a few tractor supply coupons and i will buy oil there since they have it on sale for 10.99 a gallon. Farm use no tax. |

Then you have to deal with the used oil .

I let the dealer change fluids. I'm due for trany flush, if the dealer does it they can flush the TQ. A trany shop can probably do that to.

is it so hard to drive down to a autozone and let them dispose of your used oil free of charge.

I will have the dealership do the first one and flush the tranny so I know its done for the next 30k driving.
Anything else I should have them do to a truck with 100k? |
