EGR question?
No this is not another question about a kit or anything like that.
Lets see if I can explain this right ![]() The tubing that gets made into a U to rerout the coolant, what size tubing would I need and how far apart is the bend? Ummm..how far apart is the U apart from each other?? Hope this makes sense I am making my own kit and am gonna have someone bend some tubing just need some measurements. Thanks in advanceAh just remembered...what size is the up-pipe? 3"? gonna buy a small peice to cut so it will already be rounded to weld up the up-pipe |

i think center of one tube to center of the other tube would be about 2 3/4" if i remember right. i was going to make my own stainless tube as well but for now ended up using a pre-bent hose from a honda vtec motor. you have a little room to play with on the c-c distance because it connects to the rubber hose on the oil cooler anyway. as for the uppipe, just weld on a piece in place of the hole that you make to get the scoop and egr connect off. weld it in place on one side then tap it over the hole and finish welding. get my drift? clear as mud i know.
if you need a pic i have one on my home comp i can get you. clarence |

up-pipe diameter is 2", do yourself a favor and cutout the flex section along with the EGR flange take-off and weld in the section of 2". With the EGR cooler deleted there isn't a lot of support on that flex section of pipe, and in some cases it can cause it to break later.

Cool 2" up-pipe and 2 3/4" c-c. What size tubing for the reroute? I would do rubber hose but I dont want to do it again so I want to make ss.
Thanks for the input guys. |

i have been running the rubber hose for a year now and i am not easy on it. it gets hot. also if i fel that i want to replace it, i can just undo the clamps and change it out in about 5 minutes. with the coolant drained of course.
