Recall killed my max boost???

Hope I'am wrong but don't think so. Before my 05B35 recall I could boost up to one full notch to the right of 20 on the factory guage. Any one know what that pressure was? Think i read the late models did 28 psi. Now its 20 psi dead even, if it goes a hair over it backs right back off to 20 psi. This is not fair! I can notice the power difference.

this is the first i have heard of a boost issue with the reprogram.......do me a favor and drive it and try different things......and see if it comes back or if you get it with certain take off or accell conditions...i have reprogramed tons of these and have not had anyone complain about boost levels, including guys with aftermarket gauges (although im sure thier chips take care of the problem).....i would like to know if your willing to help me....it could even possibly be, although i doubt it....that it has to learn a new stratagy for your driving style that got erased when it was re programed.....keep me informed please.......Marc

I have not driven much since update, but a distinct difference. I tend to be heavy footed. Could not get out of traffic until late last night. Tried two hard and different takeoffs, one was uphill. For one thing its easy to read the guage rather than "holding on" and "looking ahead". It tries to go over 20, but modulates right back to exactly 20psi. No chance to talk to dealer yet.

mschn99, thanks for the reply, I will be traveling 12 hr to Florida this week, finally some time off work! Plenty of oppertunity to drive like, or try whatever you might want me to.

I wasn't going to chip it, but ..... now Ford has force me.
Can't believe that a stock turbo capable of 40 psi is being limited to 20!
Maybe I can get a Cash HP/Torque reduction rebate from the dealer?

Update, drove about 100 miles today. 4-5 key cycles.
Its definetly come up some. Loaded it on a long hill this morning and got one needle right of the 20 mark, (21psi). Tonight i got it up to the right of 20 and fully in the middle of the marks, 25psi??. Could it be learning that i really want more boost?
Can feel the power increase also.

Does yours go all the way over to the line past the 20 mark?
Mine used to.

Nope. It stops right before it. Right around 28 psi. Hoping to see more as I rack on the miles.
