i think my hg's blown .. the truck got all jumpy when i tried to get up from a stop sign and im low on coolent and when it smokes its kinda grey with a lil white .... is my assumption correct?

could be EGR and/or oil cooler as well... Hard to guess on the internet, but if it's not HG's, I'd bet its one of the others.

probably egr cooler 1st. Head gaskets will usually cause an overheat. Not always, but most times.

so id be outta coolent even if it is just the egr?

yes, the cooler itself cracks and you loose it out the exhaust. Also a lot of the time the oil cooler goes out and takes the EGR cooler with it.

Not tyin to steal thread but when it smokes does it do it all the time? under a load, while driving? I am tryin to diagnose mine cause I have a kettle whistle starting
