If you are using it a work truck then the 6.0 isn't gonna work out. If it's gonna be a weekend driver then get the 6.0.
i also disagree. at our construction company we have half a dozen 6.0s. one of the 03s has around 250,000+ miles and the only problem it has ever had is one injector go bad at around 200000. we also have one 04, one 05, and three 07s. the 03 and 04 are f250s, the 05 is a f450 with a utility bed and the three 07s are f350s with utility beds. only the 04 has blown heads, the 05 had to get a new HPOP. no problems with the 07s yet, all of them have around 40k-50k miles. ALL trucks are used monday-friday and sometimes on saturday pulling mini excavators, skid steers, pipe trailers, and other crap. the only truck we have at our shop that has had major problems has been our 3500 lb7 dmax. it has had 2 full sets of injectors and a blown turbo, all under warranty.

the only 6.0 that has had majors problems has been mine. it had to have the bedplate replaced which was a big job. i have been around a lot of 6.0s and never had i heard of any of them having several engines or transmissions.

+2 on that. Although I'm not a contractor I do own a delivery business that I tow a 24' 12k tag with another 2 to 4k in the bed. That's a honest 25k combined and its towed in some good grades. I have also never heard of major or repetitive failures. Most of the 6.0's that I know of that are used as work vehicles are well running and pile up very high miles. The problem with 6.0's come when they aren't used hard and are just used to get the groceries and drive to work. This is what kills the 6.0 with all the smog bs on them......
