Hey guys I have an 06 f-250. I had an issue today where the truck completely lost power at a stop light, and a check engine light came on, and lots of white smoke, and then all of a sudden it regained power.
My question is this, is there a way for me to pull this check engine code myself? Unfortunately i bought my truck used, so i dont have an owners manual yet to check if theres a way to do this.

you have to have a code reader. you can buy cheap one at different places, you can go to most any shop and they will probably charge you to hook it up, or you can go to auto zone and they do it for free but i dont think their reader is anywhere near as good as the one we have a school.

Autozone will give you a code and a guess. I would never go there to get codes read. Look at autoenginuety, it works ok for these trucks.
