Diesel Noob - Diesel Additives
Got my first diesel 2004 F350 SD CC Lariat 6L
I understand it is important to treat fuel ......on ALL? fills? Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba - tempertures range from +35C to -35C. What should I be putting in the tank with my fuel and how much? How important is this? Want to make sure I feed the horse what she wants. |

I use Diesel Kleen most fill ups. In your winter months you should be using an anti gel product. I use Lucas a lot! They took a lot of oil additive out to fit the newer 6.4L. I feel better adding!!

The bottle looks simular to products at your local auto store. I can't for the life of me remember it! Hope this helps! |

Thanks DF
To confirm you dump: a whole 1L? bottle of Diesel Kleen in with every fill and in the winter months: a whole 1L? bottle of Diesel Kleen and a anti gel additive? I appreciate the help - I know I gotta run her hard and maintain fluids to ensure a long and healthy life. Shes only got 203K on her and I'm sure they're all highway! |

I would run diesel kleen in the summer grey bottle and the white and red bottle in the winter as it has a antigell (also made by power service). A lot of people run this, and staydine (sp?) Before you run lucas products I would do some searching.... I have read lots of bad things about their products.

- Glad 2 have U jump in here with us smokers!!DieselKleen is a great product. Usage instructions are on the bottle. Don't have any experience with the white bottle due to it not getting that cold here in the winter, but I've heard it's real effective. Good luck with your new ride - Post some pics when ya get some!! We like pics! |

I live in Sask and everybody I work with runs a diesel truck of some sort, none of us have used any kind of anti-gel product at all durring the winter.
I am pretty sure they add that kind of additive before it gets to the pumps up here. I have never seen anybody with gelling problems not even when it was -35c for that couple of weeks this winter. |
